Our services include tree removal, trimming and pruning, stump grinding, specialized arborist support, land clearing, hauling and disposal, and slash-and-brush treatments. For wildfire-focused properties, we also help with defensible space planning, fuel reduction, and home hardening improvements designed to reduce vulnerabilities around the home. For larger sites, mapping and GIS can help define treatment areas and document progress. We also offer consultations for landowners who want clear direction before committing to a scope.

Our Team
Joe Snipes, Owner
Born and raised in Crescent City, California, I developed a deep respect for the forest from an early age. Growing up in the woods fostered not just a personal connection to nature but also a lifelong commitment to restoring and protecting it. My professional journey has been shaped by years of hands-on experience in forestry restoration, permaculture, and wildland fire management across Northern California.
As the founder and owner of ForestScapes LLC, I lead a dedicated team focused on forest health, fire prevention, and sustainable land stewardship. I’m an ISA-certified arborist with extensive training in fuels reduction, ecosystem restoration, and defensible space creation. I’ve had the privilege of working with local, state, federal, tribal, and nonprofit partners to protect some of the most fire-prone and ecologically valuable areas in our region.
Outside of work, I’m most at home outdoors with my family, exploring the landscapes I’ve spent my career working to preserve. The North Coast is more than just where I live—it’s my community, my passion, and where I plan to stay for years to come.

Jason Wentworth, Owner
Jason Wentworth began his career in tree work learning how to prune fruit and ornamental trees with his father in their family business at the age of 12. He has pruned countless small trees, even entire orchards.
Many years later, he was fortunate enough to receive on-the-job training in tree climbing at Wright Tree Service, a subcontractor for PGE that handles vegetation management around power lines. His knowledge of pruning standards and best practices translated directly to larger trees.
He worked for Wright Tree for 3 years before leaving to further his career and skills by entering the world of residential and commercial tree care. He started his first tree service company 3 Dad’s Tree Service which he ran for 2 years before selling the company to his tree work mentor and close friend, Levi Cope.
Jason brings 6 years of intensive full time arboriculture and tree climbing experience to the team at Forestscapes and is actively advancing his knowledge and skills everyday day.
He has lived in Humboldt County his entire life and has a deep reverence and respect for the native trees and ecosystem. He is conservation minded and always tries to help trees before removing them, if it is sensible.
Victor Perez, Foreman
At 26 years young, Victor was raised in Orange County along with 4 other siblings. He grew up playing soccer. He enjoys fishing and anything outdoors. He is currently studying to get his arborist certification. He has been a crucial component to the ForestScapes team for 2+ years and hopes to make forestry/wildland fire his career.
